GET TO KNOW OUR STORY

Stephen and Vanessa met at one of the greatest and most magical places on Earth; Arby's. With all great love stories, theirs began with an amazing friendship that exposed so many things they had in common. The connection was strong and unbreakable and not just between Vanessa and Stephen. He had built a strong foundation with her three little girls, Kaeliann, Lila, and Emerie as well. From that perfect first kiss on that dark Washington night, to the 12 hour drive to move her from Washington to California, it was obvious they were meant to be. He was the only man that could make her heart beat faster and slower at the same time. She was the only woman that could beat him in basketball ;). She accepted his perfect flaws, and he accepted her mild obsessions with weird things. The transition for the new girls in his life could not have been easier. Who knew this man had the patience of a saint? The next milestone in their relationship was on the most beautiful night in one of the most beautiful places. Stephen chose to get down on that very sore and hurt knee and asked Vanessa to spend the rest of her life with him. On that sandy Hawaiian beach with the waves crashing behind them, Vanessa accepted his shaky and nervous proposal with tears and laughter. She could not imagine her life and her lovely daughters' lives moving forward in any other way.
